BowTies or Bows

This time last week I was super excited and a little nervous about our ultrasound and finding out the gender of our sweet little third baby. We have two beautiful little girls and while if we had another girl we would be thrilled. We'd really like to have a little boy in the mix! :] This whole time I've been laughing at J and telling him that I've been praying so it will be a boy for sure and of coarse there is the fact that our oldest {She will be THREE in just a few weeks!!!} has been saying its a boy since day well not one but like week six haha.

So we woke up bright and early Friday morning got the girls breakfast, dressed and in the car in record time! We stopped and got some coffee then headed straight to our appointment. We ended up being 30 minutes early which was a really good thing because there was some trouble with the paper work. Let me tell you, there is nothing worse then an unexpected delay when you're pregnant AND holding your bladder!! But by 10:15 {which was the scheduled time of my appointment} we were back in the room. The ultrasound tech was the sweetest, she let me go empty some of my bladder {Is that to much info? ;]  } before we got started and then about 5 minutes in said go ahead and completely empty it cause I was so tiny she couldn't see anything but my cervix ha!

With baited breath we patiently waited. And waited. And waited. She looked multiple times and just could not get a good enough look to confirm one way or another. The position of baby just wasn't ideal for revealing the gender. Our sweet baby is already head down and spine up!! Thats right this baby is already ready for delivery. Because of the position she didn't want us to try and move baby just to get a good look at the goods. The tech was able to check everything else out and baby looks great even weighting an estimated 11oz. However we have no idea if Its a sweet little boy or girl!

We were originally gonna do a gender reveal with family at dinner Saturday night but because we didn't have anything to share we just told everyone as we saw them. And to my shock quiet a few people didn't believe us!! I guess with all the advancements in technology they thought there was no way we wouldn't be able to find out. Well we weren't and we definitely wouldn't be keeping it a secret if we knew! I am a total type A, planner and organizer and if I'm being honest not knowing is kinda freaking me out! How can I shop and decorate a nursery and the biggest obstacle {In my opinion} how are we gonna name a baby if we don't know the gender!!!! So as you can tell I'm still trying to get use to the idea of not knowing until we deliver. {We won't have another ultrasound unless there is some complication that comes up. Insurance, you can't live without it but it really puts a wrench in things sometimes haha}

As for whether its bowties or bows your just gonna have to stay tuned! Only 19 weeks to go ;] Piece of cake right! Anyone else ever been in this position? We heard a few wrong gender prediction stories which I think is way worse then not knowing. Planning for a girl and having a boy :o I can't imagine!!

  1. Oh no! I can't believe baby wasn't cooperative and now you have to wait. Can you do one of those elective ultrasounds at a little boutique place? We did that with my first because my husband was traveling and couldn't make our OB appointment.

    1. We probably could but I don't think we will. Some people have been really pushy about the fact that we couldn't find out and it kinda makes us want to just not know lol and with it being our last baby it might be fun to not know :]
